Drosophila Interest Group
The Drosophila SIG facilitates interactions among the research groups at the NIH using Drosophila as an experimental organism. The research interests span diverse topics from genetics, cell biology, and developmental biology to systems biology approaches. One of the major goals is to foster the exchange of ideas and techniques from one area of research to others. The group also provides mentoring to tenure-track investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and students.
The Drosophila SIG meets approximately once each quarter and features a research presentation from a group using Drosophila as a model system. Speakers are encouraged to present details of methodology and data analyses that span multiple research areas.
